How to Fight and Win Space Wars Lecture

Description

Based on the author’s 50 years of experience helping the United States fight wars in space, he will provide an unclassified lecture outlining the basic principles of how to fight and win space wars. He will describe the 11 previous space wars or space systems attacks that have occurred in the past 60 years, and specifically describe satellite attacks that have been occurring due to the Ukrainian conflict. Finally, the students will understand what threats exist to space systems and the severe consequences if the United States cannot defend its assets in the space environment. In addition, Mr. Szymanski will outline the foundations doctrines, strategies and tactics required for successful space operations, rank specific adversaries and allies in their space warfare capabilities, and illustrate conflict escalation control and war termination criteria.

Who Should Attend:

This lecture series are for the technically knowledgeable and non-technical alike. It is generally a discussion of the history of space warfare, some of the basic principles involved, and the best ways to win these conflicts in space. It will also include discussion of the attacks on satellites associated with the Ukrainian conflict. This will be mostly policy and strategy discussions.

Instructor(s):

Mr. Paul Szymanski has 50 years’ experience in space war policy, doctrine, strategy, simulations, surveillance, survivability, threat assessment, long-range strategic planning, and command and control. He has published/lectured over 175 times in Aviation Week, the United States, Canada, Britain, Scotland, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Poland, Estonia, Ukraine, India, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Malaysia, and Japan. He has helped the United States fight space wars over this time period (11 space wars and "incidents") and participated in 12 different space weapons programs and 5 different satellite inspector programs. He previously possessed 86 different security clearances in deeply covert space operations, but these all timed out 11 years ago when he retired. This will be an unclassified lecture

More Information

This course will provide an understanding of the basic functions common to every radar system, as well as insight into the signal and data processing requirements and capabilities of those systems. Attendees will receive copies of the presentation along with relevant background publications. (This course replaces the Radar 101 and Radar 201 courses)
